Ugh. It's another gross, sticky, hot week here in Vancouver. So once again my meal plan is about turning on the oven as little as possible! We're also having the in-laws over for a birthday dinner, so here's how I'm going to entertain without turning on the oven for more than a few minutes at a time...

In-laws over for dinner, but it’s smoking hot right now,
so I’m doing a Mediterranean-themed dinner:
* Pre-made dolmades
* Pickled vegetables
* Flatbread
with Olive Tapenade OR Olive oil cooked rice with spinach
* Fried sole fillets with lemon butter drizzle
* Blackberry and apple crisp (recipe to come!), baked early in the morning when it's cooler OR I'll try it in my slow cooker
* Sliced cantaloupe (I might try grilling it also for
kicks)
* TO DRINK: Pomegranate
