Waste Not Want Not Wednesday - August 26, 2015

Welcome to the Waste Not Want Not Wednesday link party! WNWNW is a place to find (and link up) gluten free recipes, eco-friendly tips, and frugal DIY tutorials. This link-up party is inspired by World Food Day (Oct. 16), and studies such as this one that show that between 40-51% of food in Canada and America ends up in the garbage.  Over-consumption, lack of knowledge, low cost and over purchasing are common causes of food waste in North America. This unsustainable over-consumption extends to so many aspects of our lives.

So perhaps if we all share our tips for consuming a little less stuff in general, cooking more responsibly and frugally, and living eco-friendly, we can each take a small part in making our world a little more sustainable.

And besides, who couldn't save a little bit of $$$?

  1. Hi Danielle! Thanks for hosting! Great features! Love the look of your cinnamon bread. I so wish I could have yeast... Unfortunately not :( Oh well. This week I'm sharing Raspberry Zucchini Loaf. I hope you're enjoying what's left of summer!

    1. I know, I'm so sorry about the yeast! Once of these days I'll try to find a way to sub it out. I'm just still riding the high of making it gluten free AND vegan ;)

  2. Thanks for hosting! I'm sharing a few of my most recent blogs posts. I'm blogging again after a year break and getting back into link parties. I shared an eclectic mix of posts including green living, healthy recipes, and tips when traveling with kids! I usually don't share this many at once, but I'm getting caught up. Thank you and have a great week.

  3. Yeah! I bought tapioca starch, now I have more recipes for it! And apple cider vinegar is so versatile! My post I submitted this week is Curry Pickled Peaches. These peaches are pickled in apple cider vinegar and I wrote about how white vinegar is just a modern day processed pickling method that has gotten away from the nutrient dense traditional method of lacto-fermented food like apple cider vinegar. Enjoy your hump day!

    1. That sounds really interesting! I've done pickled veggies with ACV but never peaches, that sounds like a lovely sweet and tart combo. Thanks for sharing, Kari :)
