Let's hope this works, I'm testing out sending images from my phone!
Today at the farmers market I picked up a bunch of mini beets, a bag of organic baby kale, and a jar of organic sorghum syrup. As a bonus, the people who we always buy our kale from (San Kor Tea) threw in a handful of fresh hop flowers.
Those little purple and green flowers you see there are the hops.
So now I'm trying to figure out... What do I do with the sorghum and hops?
The farmers suggested I toss the hops in salad and mix the sorghum with miso for braising meat and veggies. I think I'll give those a try, but I'd love to hear your suggestions!

Danielle,
ReplyDeleteYou need to make up a batch of GF biscuits, butter them and then drizzle the sorghum over top. YUM! That's what my grandparents would do in Ohio. Hope you enjoy your farmer's market treasures!
Sounds like a great idea! I'll definitely give that a try! I like the flavour, it's like a cross between molasses and honey :)
